Denis Morin’s newest offering for French label Là-haut Dans L’Océan is a lush exploration of birds chirping in echoing circles, watery samples, and shimmering pads. Cold Ubiquity plays with the tones and pitches of a large variety of bird calls. The second half of the record is more synth-based, with pixelated melodies fluttering throughout. Some of the tracks were recorded in a 1400m altitude environment, and the whole record was made to be listened at that altitude “while snow melts in a little stream on the path.”

Denis Morin is from Grenoble, a french provincial city located at the meeting point of three valleys of the Alps. This city is both high-tech and nature-oriented, due to its quite new history and location, respectively.
This EP contains 4 tracks, who are different versions of a track named Working K, eponymous to the EP.
There is the main mix by Denis Morin, which contains sampled « natural » sounds such as insects, guzheng and one of the heaviest kick in the whole spectrum of kicks that you can have access to nowadays. Yes that is a strong statement. So yes this main mix is a good reflection, I think, of this hybrid city of Grenoble, if you visit you will get it, maybe. It is dark, bitcrushed, obstinated. It is long and heavy, it is deep, it is ambient, it is not ambient.
And then there is a remix of this main mix by Denis Morin: abstract, progressive, like a ghost version of the main mix. Like this famous Burning Spear record « Marcus Garvey » and the dub version of it « Garvey’s Ghost », you just need both.
On the B side, you have an edit by Krikor, also known as Crack Boy, the gear master with the poisonous sounds, with the uncomfortable lines, who produced a lo-fi dancefloor ready track. But this is yet a strange dancefloor, a damp suffocating dancefloor, you don’t need to move to be sweaty and you don’t need to fear to be scared. You don’t need to move to be dancing as well of course.
And then there is the light, the cool breeze, the openness, which is the track by Stewart Brown from 12th Isle collective. This track is even deeper than the main mix itself, due partly to a particularly resolved and rich hi-hat sound. As I was taught at school, any conclusion should open to further ideas, well this is exactly what it does. Let’s go swimming or hiking or stay home as you wish.

Wolfswagen – Authentikós Ep on DHMR label
Wolfwagen is a reflection on the authenticity of so-called ethnic music in the era of internet and samplers so perfect that we can no longer distinguish them from the real instruments they imitate.
Especially since the ease of execution (in this case the balafon played on the push tool) make any work of musical technique properly speaking spoiled as soon as a source of electricity and a computer with tools are available.
Leaving room for the composition and the pleasure of the imaginary, the tracks are blurred in favor of the approach and the result in which the factor of chance and randomness are not negligible as underlines here the use of fm synthesizer and random midi tool.
Hoping that the journey would still be successful, no label more than DHMR could be the home of such an imaginary throw of pleasure launched in spite of nations and continents!
Musical Autobiography – Ellipsis comes from cones and produces spiral narratives
The aesthetic part and pathos inherent to the biographical aspect are present in the music below, realized during a workshop on the autobiography animated by Alessandro Bosetti. Follow the link for the description of the laboratory master animating this workshop about the course of this traineeship, which was a real “brain shaker” for me!
Entitled “Les nom du père” meaning “The names of the father” in reference to the Lacan conference of the same name, this creation in the autobiographical narrative genre, explores the laughter and tears through the aesthetic techno language which informs the listener of the intensities and notably through the measured and measured use of kicks that echo the speech, exposing a momentary, and certainly fictional point of view, if not false (after verification). a glance at a moment of the ellipse on one of its adverse parts forming the cone :

Later, it was followed by a musical live performance, performed at “Le Vog” Fontaine’s art center, as well as a new piece borrowing both the lyrics and the title of the Lacan conference in question, this time spelled “les non-dupent èrent” which could be traduced by “the non-fooled wander”. Because precisely as you can see spelling fluctuating and while fluctuating slips along the ellipse of the cone and spirals the meaning (and it’s quite happy). Médusa est une jeune ange déchue, tombée dans notre cosmos par mégarde.
Ici, elle veut surfé sur la vie jusqu’à ce qu’elle devienne sombre et sage comme Sun-Ra. Elle réalise son voyage astral préféré en écoutant des sons venus de sa nouvelle terre. Avec ses oreilles d’ange, elle se voyagera jusqu’à Saturne histoire de voir si Sun-Ra est toujours vivant là-bas. Elle apprendra à créer son propre destin et tentera les dieux avec sa nouvelle réalité.
Mais chaotique est ce cosmos et désordonné sont les interconnexion entre les réalités …

My first remix for pro artists and a great label!
While resuming my sounds activities purely for leisure, the group Helium Robots of which I am fan proposes to remix the third single of their album Voltopia which appears on the London based label This is Music:

I use it to experiment a maximum since the art of the remix from audio files is quite new to me, I then compose under the software Acid sony studio 7 and offers another version softer, still imperfect, but Which keeps its charm and deserves a listening if you got time to dream :
